Bonnie, the former owner of The Queen of Arts (now Talisker on Main) and the property behind ToM was kind enough to put in these planter boxes back in 1975. With the help of my crew, we recently brought them back to life. This was everyone’s first day back after the break getting to play in the dirt. We planted lots of tomatoes, peppers, herbs, cucumbers, lettuces, greens, radish, shallots, garlic, etc. With the last two nights being cold we had to cover them up. Look for Talisker on Main garden vegetables, greens and herbs to popping up on the menu very soon.
On another fun note, Talisker on Main Sous Chef Philip Grubisa has implemented a program with local farmer and rancher Julie Clifford of Clifford family farm located in Provo, Utah. Every week Phil, myself and crew save up all of our vegetable scraps and bring them down to feed a pig. Phil is so dedicated and passionate about food he drives 2 + hours to Provo every week hauling 100+ pounds of vegetable scraps so these pigs can eat well.
So also look for ToM fed / Clifford family farms raised Pork on the menu soon!
